The first image shows the theme of advantage through the body language of the character. He is high up showing higher status plus an element of danger and excitement - these are typical themes within this genre of film. The characters hand on hip and happy facial expression shows a sense of accomplishment which is portraying that the characters goal of the adventure had been reached. Also, the trees in the background suggest they're in woodland area, this is a typical setting of an adventure due to its sense of mystery within the location.
Within this image the two boys are hiding as if they're not wanting to be seen, this reviles a motive for their adventure; they may be running from someone or looking for someone. The concept of having a mission that stimulates the adventure is a typical convention of the genre. Also the simple idea that the characters are boys/men show a true convention of adventure films as they're more stable, strong and brave than woman (stereotypical) meaning they are more able to handle the situation.
